Bangkok is the home of many international schools designed for different nationalities and curriculums. The international schools that Bangkok has are both popular with the locals, and expats who are looking for a high standard of education for their children. Due to the popularity and high standard of education that these schools offer, the price of attending these schools is  higher than public schools. There are also limited spaces at each school, which makes them more desirable to attend.

American School of Bangkok

The American School of Bangkok teaches the American curriculum. The school was established in 1983 and has over 850 students enrolled from over 40 nationalities. Most classes are made up of 15 to 20 students. The American School of Bangkok is accredited by the WASC or Western Associations of School and Collages, and is active member of the EARCOS. The American School of Bangkok is co-educational, and is able to take students from the age of 3 to the age of 18.

Australian International School of Bangkok

The Australian International School of Bangkok is based on the Australian Curriculum or NSW. There are three campuses that are a part of the Australian International School Bangkok. The Soi 20, the Soi 31 and the Ram Inthra campus make up the three campuses.  Since August 2014, they are now able to take students from the age of 11 months old, to 14 years old. This covers kindergarten through year 8. The school is home to students from 15 different countries. All the teachers hired at the Australian International School Bangkok are native and professional English speakers. The school also has a team of teaching assistants, and nannies to assist the teachers.

International School Bangkok

The International School Bangkok is the oldest international school in both Bangkok, and in Thailand. The school opened its doors in 1951, and the original building is still standing today. During the Vietnam War, the International School Bangkok had over 3,600 students, which led to the school needing two sessions every day to accommodate the students. Today’s student body is made up of 2,000 students that come from 60 nationalities. The 220 teachers teach the American curriculum. The International School Bangkok is open to students from the age of 3 to the age of 18, and is co-educational. The campus is located right outside of the heart of Bangkok on 15 hectares of land. The International School Bangkok is an independent and non-profit school.

KIS International School

KIS International offers International Baccalaureate programmes. Students are able to pursue an International Baccalaureate education from the start of their schooling. KIS takes students from the age of 3, and is able to take students up to the age of 18. KIS has over 550 students that come from 45 nationalities. KIS International School is accredited by the Council of International Schools. They are also an active member of the International Schools Association of Thailand, and licensed by the Thai Ministry of Education.

New Sathorn International School

New Sathorn International School was opened in 2004. New Sathorn is a Christian school that offers a comprehensive educational program. Students can enter the nursery program that is open to children that are 3 years old, and are able to continue their educational through to grade 12 at New Sathorn International School. Students come from 30 different nationalities. The staff is made up of teachers who are native English speakers with University degrees in Education and have years of teaching experience. New Sathorn International School is a member of The Federation of Christian Schools, and the International Schools Association of Thailand.

NSIT International School

NIST International School started in 1992 and is the first and only full non-profit International Baccalaureate international school in Bangkok. NSIT has over 1,500 students each year that come from over 50 countries. The age range for the students is from 3 years old to 18 years old.  Along with the curriculum that students are taught, NSIT International School also provides more than 300 extra-curricular options to enhance students’ learning experience. NSIT is a member of the Southeast Asia Student Activity Conference and the Bangkok International Schools Athletic Conference.

Rasami British International School

Rasami British International School opened in 1971 and has grown gradually each year since then. The school was originally intended only for preschool students. However, over time the school has grown to cover from preschool to high school students. Rasami British International School is able to take students that ages range from 18 months old to 18 years old. Rasami British International School has been accredited by the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment, and the CfBT Education Trust. St Andrews International School Sathorn Campus

The Sathorn Campus was opened in 2002. The Sathorn campus is open to students that are 2 to 11 years old. St Andrews Sathorn Campus follows the English National curriculum. All the classes are taught in English, with Thai and French classes being offered. The class sizes are small with the maximum number of 25 students for the Nursery class. Once the student are in kindergarten, the class size is reduced to 20.

St Andrews International School Sukhumvit 107 Campus

St Andrews International School Sukhumvit 107 Campus is located near the Bearing BTS station, which makes the campus easily accessible. Sukhumvit 107 campus is open to students that are between the ages of 2 and 18 years old. The curriculum that is taught at Sukhumvit 107 campus is also used by the National Curriculum of England. In 2015, the campus added a 4000 square metre building for its Art and IT programs.
